Day 30. This is a photo from very early in my photography journey, but it still remains one of my favourites. In fact, it is over 10 years old and was captured on an iPhone 5S! This was one of my first visits to Bodnant Gardens, a National Trust botanical garden located in the Conwy Valley, overlooking the Carneddau Mountains.

Having been back and photographed this location many times since, I have never quite found the same perfect conditions. What I love about this particular image is how perfectly the gap in the clouds is reflected in the water of the pond, the water lillies are done flowering and their presence does not overpower the scene. (Also, trying to capture this scene without anyone sat on the oversized bench opposite is a challenge in itself!)

Bodnant Gardens is a photographer’s dream with endless revisitability, with formal gardens and terraces, the Laburnum Arch, meadows, glades, dells, woodland, giant redwoods, water gardens and some impressive architecture too, there is always something to see regardless of the season or the weather.
