This was a beautiful evening back in May last year. We'd been on a location-scouting adventure after I'd finished work and we were driving back home from Conwy. The sun had been very bright all evening and with a lack of clouds in the sky to provide any interest it had been a challenge to find interesting compositions. We decided to stop off at Llanfairfechan as it was somewhere I'd not visited before and with the arrival of the golden hour, the light was improving by the minute.

The boating pond (locally nicknamed Swan Lake) is home to a pair of mute swans who are dearly loved by the local community. During our visit the female was nesting. Every year the local council erect fences to both keep them safe and make an easy transition for the cygnets into the water. The male was quite the poser whilst out enjoying the water and we were treated to a beautiful display from someone who is very obviously not camera shy!

I am looking forward to visiting again this year, hopefully for some pictures of little baby cygnets. Fingers crossed.
